When you participate and get involved in Chamber programs, you maximize the value of your membership investment.Chamber participation not only increases awareness of your business and the products or services you sell, working with others through the Chamber can help you develop your personal leadership and teamwork skills, and provides you with an opportunity to be part of making good things happen in Frankfort.
Getting involved is easy. Chamber projects and programs are developed and directed by action groups made up of members. Because the Chamber staff provides administrative services, members can focus their energies on accomplishing important goals and objectives. Due to ever changing business community needs and in recognition of the value of members’ time, the Chamber has only a few standing committees. Most action groups operate as task forces; coming together to work toward accomplishing a particular goal on a schedule determined by the group members themselves. | COMMUNITY/WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Enhance the quality of life afforded to all who live, work and play within the Frankfort Area community.

Adult Leadership Frankfort
A program funded by community businesses. Leadership Frankfort seeks to build a network of committed, informed and progressive in the Frankfort/Franklin County Community. Past graduates make up the Advisory Board that
assist with planning challenge day

Annual Meeting & Silent Auction
A program allows Chamber leaders to report on their progress made over the past year toward achieving strategic objectives, to announce plans for the coming year, and to install new officers and directors. Committee will assist with promotion, theme and coordination of this event.

Farm City Banquet
A program designed to recognize the contribution of agriculture and promotes communication between farm and business communities. Committee will assist with planning and promotion of this event.

People’s Choice Award
A program designed to recognize the best Frankfort/Franklin County has to offer. Committee will assist with category selection, planning and promotion of this event.

Annual Golf Tournament
The Chamber’s major fund-raising event, the Chamber Golf Tournament raises the additional funds necessary to carry out the Chamber’s programs to benefit its members and the community of Frankfort/Franklin County. Committee will assist with planning, promotion and volunteering of this event.

Reality Store
A program funded by area businesses and educational entities. Reality Store an active, hands-on, real-life simulation, which gives young people the opportunity to explore career opportunities and make lifestyle, and budget choices similar to those adults face on a daily basis. Committee will assist with planning, promotion and volunteering of this event.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Promote the growth of quality business operations, improve the climate for business, and support sustainable community growth and development.

Industrial Roundtable Group
A program to bring together area manufacturing human resources and plant managers to openly discuss the needs of this segment in the community. Open to only manufacturing firms in Frankfort, lunch sponsors are welcome.

Frankfort Area Marketing and Promotion
A program designed to focus efforts on marketing the Frankfort community to potential new business/expansion.
Committee will assist with necessary materials for Chamber website and publications to promote Frankfort.

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Retain existing members and achieve membership growth through improved communications, increased involvement, and expanded, innovative programming.

Ambassadors
Members represent the Chamber in the community and at Chamber events. Ambassadors visit member firms, promote opportunities for greater involvement, greet members at Chamber events, and encourage new members to participate.

Chamber M2M Card Program
Encourages members and their employees to do business with member firms offering special discounts and/or promotional items to card holders. A taskforce will continue to work with staff to market the program to members.

Program/Finance Development
The development and implementation of programs and activities that meet the needs of our community and Chamber member businesses. The Program Development Committee meets quarterly to review programs and services and evaluate the needs and member interest. This taskforce consists of Chamber Board of Directors.

Governmental Affairs
By working together our voice is stronger than by working individually. Representation of business community interests to state and local government officials, developing Chamber issue positions, Candidate Forums and Community Forums.

Legislative Welcome Event
Held in mid-January the Legislative Welcome allows Chamber members to network and talk one-on-one with our local elected officials.

SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Small business comprises more than 90% of the Chamber membership. Our Small Business Development Committee concentrates on meeting their needs through discount services, workshops, and seminars. Working closely with our local Economic Development office, SCORE, SBA, SBDC, Community Ventures, KY State University, KY Economic Development Cabinet.

Brings together the small business community to discuss business needs, training, and development of the entrepreneurial spirit n the Frankfort Community. The Chamber and committee members continue to review ways to assist small businesses, entrepreneurship, and expanding businesses in the Frankfort/Franklin County community.

Retail Merchant Group
The Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Retail Federation have joined forces to partner to better service the Retail Merchants in Frankfort/Franklin County Our Mission: The Retail Merchants Council’s mission is to provide resources in advocacy, networking, and information to enhance the image and profitability of retail companies.
