Carmen Inman began as an Executive Secretary and Claims Processor at Kentucky Central Life Insurance Company. Her duties included management of five area offices and training of new secretarial staff in customer service, interpersonal and communication skills, time and organizational management. Ms. Inman has also served as Executive Secretary for the Life Underwriters Association of Frankfort.
Ms. Inman continued her work in claims processing through the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky, where she served as Membership Representative and Claims Processor. Ms. Inman increased membership and developed the KFDBA Membership Directory of Kentucky Funeral Homes, during her tenure at FDAK.
Ms. Inman now serves as the Executive Director of the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce, a position she has held since September 2004, previously Office Manager since 1996. As Director Ms. Inman's duties include a full range of activities; coordination of the program of work; organizational structure and procedures; motivation of volunteers; responsible for developing the Chamber budget and relating budget to program goals; membership recruitment and retention; employment, training, and supervision of staff; interpretation of Chamber Policy and Procedures; long-range planning of the Chamber. She also serves as coordinator for the local Leadership Frankfort and Youth Leadership programs, as well as Reality Store and the local College Fair.
Ms. Inman attended North American College of Accounting, Kentucky State University, and Bluegrass Community & Technology College. She is a graduate of Leadership Frankfort and Leadership Central Kentucky. She will serve as Chairperson for Leadership Central Kentucky in 2010.
Ms. Inman has served as President for Project Graduation 2002-2004, and served on the Board of Franklin Co. American Red Cross. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of Kentucky State University Stewardship Program and School of Business, Frankfort Tourist Commission, Downtown Frankfort, Leadership Frankfort Advisory Board, Leadership Central Kentucky Board, and HOC Committee.
